The Long-Lost 1967 Chevelle SS396, a Street Racing Icon, Found on a Salvage Yard Hauler - 016

How could someone let a legendary race car meet such a tragic fate?

It's a question that leaves us bewildered, especially when we're discussing a car that was a household name in the drag racing world for the better part of the late '60s.

Picture this: The Goliday Brothers, the proud owners and racers of this iconic machine, decided to part ways with it. Little did they know, this decision would lead to a heartbreaking chapter in the car's history. It was abandoned, left to languish on the back of a car hauler for a staggering three decades.

Flashback to 1967 when this car was first purchased from the esteemed Wagner Chevrolet dealership in Martinsburg. From that moment on, it lived a life filled with roaring engines, burning rubber, and adrenaline-pumping races.

However, as time passed, it appeared as though this once-beloved machine had vanished into the abyss, possibly relegated to a scrapyard or worse, a car crusher. But then, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, it resurfaced, sparking renewed hope and intrigue.

Now, without further ado, we invite you to hit play on the video and let Patrick Nichols take you on a journey through the captivating saga of this once-iconic race car.
